Rev. Caroline Clifford, Assistant Pastor
Rev. Caroline Burgess Clifford, PhD serves as Assistant Pastor at Harrold
Zion Lutheran Church. She is blessed to be part of the staff of Harrold Zion where she primarily preaches, does visitation, and adult education. She has lived in a variety of locations, including Oklahoma, West Africa, several cities in Texas, Australia, and in State College and Greensburg PA. She earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station TX. She joined Penn State’s graduate program in Fuel Science, and earned a MS and PhD in the mid 1990’s. Caroline returned to State College PA in 1999 and was an Associate Research Professor in the Energy and Mineral Engineering Dept. She taught and did research on conversion of coal and biomass into liquid fuels and value-added products.
Caroline earned a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul MN where she did a distributed learning program for six years while working at Penn State. She did her internship at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huntingdon, PA. In her personal life, Caroline enjoys walking her dogs Rosie and Maggie, reading, exercising, photography, crafts, cooking, occasionally watching movies and TV programs, and caring for others.
